Be Prepared on Move-in Day
We’ve put together a list of items most students will need in their dorm room or apartment. This is not a complete or mandatory list. We offer it as a guideline to help you prepare to live comfortably and safely on campus.
We suggest you bring these items:
- Extra-long (XL) twin-size sheets
- Pillow
- Pillowcases
- A mattress cover (XL twin-size)
- Blankets
- A comforter or bedspread
- A rug
- Towels and washcloths
- Laundry supplies and a laundry basket
- Clothes hangers
- Plastic dishes
- Utensils
- Cleaning supplies
- Storage container
- Trash can
- Fan
- Personal toiletries
- Power strips with surge protectors that meet fire code restrictions
We encourage you to bring:
- Computer
- Bath mat
- TV
- Iron
- DVD player/game console
- Stereo equipment
- Sewing kit
- First aid kit
- Lamp (not halogen)
Each room has:
- A desk for each occupant
- A desk chair for each occupant
- A bed with an XL twin-size mattress for each occupant
- A dresser for each occupant
- One microwave
- One mini-fridge
- Internet access
- Washer & dryer in the residence hall
These items must be left at home:
- Extension cords without adequate surge protectors
- Power strips without surge protectors
- Incense
- Candles
- Multi-plug adapters
- Open-coil appliances
- Halogen light bulbs
- Tobacco, alcohol, and illegal substances
- Weapons
The Residence Life fee is included in the comprehensive fee; therefore, there is no need to bring cash with you on move-in day.
