Wayne Pelts, Bluefield University’s Assistant Director of the Academic Center for Excellence, is releasing his next book on Small Business Saturday.
“Bluefield Details” commemorates the area’s architectural history while celebrating the community with 100 pages of photographs and written reflections. Among its 71 contributors are several BU alumni, as well as current and former faculty and staff.
“I asked people that I know and love – and that I know love Bluefield – to write for me,” Pelts shared. “Some of the people who wrote for me haven’t lived here in a long time, but Bluefield is a part of their heart, and other people like me have lived here forever.”
To mark the book’s launch on Saturday, November 30, 2024, Pelts will be at The Blue Spoon Café in Bluefield, WV from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and The Corner Store in Bluefield, VA from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The book will be available at both locations throughout the holiday season, as well as online at bluefielddetails.com.
“My deep desire is for this to bless people,” Pelts said. “Each page has something on it that someone has written that’s either a reason why they love Bluefield or a memory.”
