by | Jan 14, 2025

Bluefield University welcomed new and returning students over the weekend for its Spring 2025 semester.

This marks the second semester under the leadership of President Steve Peterson and will conclude the institution’s 103rd academic year since it was founded in 1922.

The university will host several events throughout the semester to engage with the local community, including a Revival Night on Friday, January 17 and its Presidential Scholarship Competition next month. The campus will also host local youth for Winter Blast this weekend and young adults from throughout the region for a discipleship conference in February.

BU student-athletes have already begun practicing and competing. Rams fans can find team schedules at bcrams.com.

Bluefield Youth and Community Theatre will present Fiddler on the Roof in February and Oliver! in April in Harman Chapel.

Bluefield University will host its annual Honors Convocation on Wednesday, April 23 followed by its Undergraduate Commencement on Saturday, May 10 and Graduate Commencement on Saturday, May 17.

After the conclusion of the semester, members of the university’s Missions Club will head to Ecuador to host Vacation Bible School-style ministry activities for at-risk children in a Christian children’s home.
