by | Apr 8, 2025

Daniel Osborne has always had deep roots in Southwest Virginia. This June, he returns to Bluefield University to serve as vice president for finance and administration.

Bluefield University has appointed Osborne, a 1998 graduate, to the executive role. He brings more than two decades of experience in financial leadership, nonprofit management, and higher education administration.

Osborne served as chief financial officer and business manager at Southeastern Free Will Baptist College in North Carolina. He led the institution’s financial operations, provided information technology oversight, and taught business courses.

“Daniel Osborne brings a deep understanding of finance, a passion for Christian higher education, and a strong connection to Bluefield,” said Dr. Steve Peterson, president of the university. “We are excited to welcome him back as we move into our next season of growth.”

Osborne earned a Master of Accountancy from Virginia Tech after completing his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at Bluefield University. He also served as executive director of Camp Jacob and worked as an agricultural extension agent with Virginia Cooperative Extension.

Born and raised in Southwest Virginia, Osborne sees his return as both a homecoming and an opportunity to give back.

“Bluefield University laid the foundation for much of my personal and professional journey,” Osborne said. “I’m honored to return and support its mission of Christ-centered education while managing its resources with integrity and excellence.”
