Bluefield University Launches Two New Online Degree Programs

by | Feb 13, 2025

BLUEFIELD, Va. — Bluefield University is introducing two fully online degree programs in March, designed to meet the increasing demand for professionals in information technology and human services. The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (B.S. in IT) and the Master of Arts in Human Services (M.A. in Human Services) provide flexible education options for working professionals and adult learners.

The B.S. in IT program prepares students for careers in network engineering, software development, IT support, and systems administration. With industries becoming increasingly reliant on technology, the program equips students with technical and leadership skills.

The M.A. in Human Services program offers two concentrations: counseling and human services administration. The counseling concentration prepares students for careers in counseling and human services, equipping them with the skills to support individuals in community service agencies, mental health organizations, higher education, and criminal justice reform. The curriculum emphasizes ethical, client-centered care, advocacy, and mental health support.

The human services administration concentration is designed for professionals seeking leadership and management roles in nonprofit agencies, social service programs, and community outreach initiatives. The coursework provides expertise in organizational leadership, policy advocacy, and service program management.
