The Commission on College Collegiate Nursing Education has granted accreditation for Bluefield University’s Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program until 2023 and the Certificate Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program until 2028.
“Accreditation by CCNE affirms the work of Bluefield University’s nursing faculty in developing high-quality MSN and RN-BSN programs focused on delivering primary care to underserved and rural populations throughout the region and the world,” said Dean Jessica Sharp, Ph.D., FNP-BC, FAANP.
The Master of Nursing (MSN) program at Bluefield University currently offers two areas of concentration which are Family Nurse Practitioner and Leadership/Education with full-time and part-time options available for students. Our MSN program prepares registered nurses to practice the art and science of delivering care to rural populations or to educate future academicians and nursing leaders. In addition, our Post-Master’s Certificate in Nursing program allows nurses who have already obtained a master’s degree in nursing to add another area of expertise to their current credentials.
Bluefield University offers a high quality, low cost nursing program with a convenient hybrid format which is perfect for busy lifestyles. Enroll now to start classes for the Spring 2019 semester. The deadline to enroll is quickly approaching. The current cost per credit hour is only $480.
You can “Know & Be Known” for leading the way in rural healthcare settings. Our nursing program emphasizes servant leadership and health and community service opportunities where students can work hands-on throughout Appalachia on service projects. We also assist our students with finding clinical placements.
Bluefield University, committed to meeting the critical need for nursing education in southwest Virginia and southern West Virginia has created partnerships with regional community colleges to make the nursing program more accessible to those wishing to pursue graduate study in nursing. To that end, we are excited to announce that our first MSN students will graduate this December.
