Bluefield University (BU) will host its traditional Christmas at Bluefield concert on Saturday, December 7, at 7:30 p.m. in the Harman Chapel auditorium on the Bluefield University campus.
Christmas at Bluefield is an annual celebration of the birth of Christ through choral performances, carol singing, instrumental selections, theatre pieces, and scripture readings. The event will showcase students and professors from BU’s music and theatre departments, as well as community members. It is free and open to the public.
Designed to welcome and celebrate the Christmas season, Christmas at Bluefield will feature carols and praise songs offered by BU’s Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble, Worship Arts Ensemble, Fine Arts Community School Children’s and Youth Choirs, Variations Chorale, and Masterworks Chorale with special guest harpist Laurel Thompson.
Voluntary donations will be collected at the concert to benefit Hurricane Helene relief efforts. A reception with light refreshments will follow the program in Shott Hall.
