Bluefield University students enrolled in the Human Resources Management course had the opportunity to connect with author, speaker, and executive coach John Brubaker in class on Tuesday, March 4. Brubaker spoke to students about developing their personal brands and media platforms as they prepare to enter the job market.
Known as “Coach Bru,” Brubaker is a former championship coach who has been featured by several major media outlets, including ESPN Radio and FOX Sports. He is the author of Seeds of Success, which won Business Book of the Year awards at the Hollywood and Southern California book festivals in 2013, and Stadium Status, which earned Amazon’s #1 International Best Seller status in 2017. Additionally, he is the founder of the Chin Up Chest Out and Hats By Bru brands.
Business students in the human resources course were able to learn and discuss what job recruiters look for and the importance of social footprints while drawing from Brubaker’s experiences in leadership development. Additionally, each student was given the chance to pick a book by Coach Bru and will receive a copy of the book they chose.
