Goodness & Light Alumni Award

Bluefield University is accepting nominations for the 8th Annual Dr. Donna Watson Goodness and Light Alumni Award, which will be presented as a part of Homecoming and Family Weekend on Friday, October 18, 2024 at 4 P.M. in Easley Library.

After bidding farewell to Dr. Donna Hardy Watson at the close of the 2016-2017 academic year, Bluefield University ensured that her legacy would remain by creating the Dr. Donna Watson Goodness and Light Alumni Award.

Created collaboratively by the School of Education and Social Science and the Office of Alumni Relations, the Goodness and Light Alumni Award is designed to recognize teacher education graduates who are “doing great things in our schools and classrooms.” The award is given annually to recognize an alumnus who embodies Dr. Watson’s mantra of spreading goodness and light in education.
