BLUEFIELD, Va. — Are you an aspiring writer, poet, or songwriter? Have you always wanted a chance to share your work and network with other creatives? Then The Bluestone Review is for you!
The Bluestone Review is a literary magazine published annually by Bluefield University students that highlights the many expressions of Appalachian life and experience through poetry, artwork, prose, and photography. This publication showcases the voices and talents of emerging and established writers within our community. It aims to provide readers with a deeper appreciation for the arts and to foster connections between regional writers, poets, artists, and other creatives and the Bluefield University community.
The Bluestone accepts submissions in various forms, including poetry, prose, photography, and artwork, and is accepting submissions for its 2025 issue until March 1. Submissions can be uploaded to The Bluestone Review page of the university website, which includes submission guidelines and past issues of the Bluestone. Additionally, a reception will be held in April to celebrate contributors, honor Appalachia’s unique and powerful creative voice, and distribute copies of this year’s issue.
