Bluefield University is once again offering its Presidential Scholarship, a full-tuition award available to two incoming freshmen each year. The scholarship, which is renewable for up to four years, recognizes exceptional academic achievement, leadership, and character.
Students interested in competing for the Presidential Scholarship should begin by applying for enrollment at Bluefield University. The admissions office will review all applications with a GPA of 3.5 or higher and contact eligible students with information about the next steps, including an invitation to participate in the competition hosted on campus on February 8th.
“This scholarship is a chance for us to recognize some of the most talented, high-achieving students and provide them with a private Christian education at no cost,” said Dr. Steve Peterson, Bluefield University President.
Accepted students invited to participate in the competition must reserve their spot by January 24, 2025. Finalists must submit two letters of recommendation and an academic resume no later than February 5, 2025.
The two scholarship winners will be announced following the February 8th competition, where faculty will review essays, conduct interviews, and evaluate applicants’ overall qualifications.
“While there will be two full-tuition scholarship winners, this process allows us to show all students just how affordable attending Bluefield can be. We are currently offering a variety of scholarships and discounts that can save students more than $10,000 per year. That is before any state or federal financial aid a student may qualify for is applied,” said Travis Roberts, Vice President, Enrollment Management and Marketing at Bluefield University.
The Presidential Scholarship is part of Bluefield University’s mission to make private Christian education accessible and affordable.
